Another report without the full picture
:
Council has not provided a copy of its revised draft dogs in open space policy which it expects the administrator, Rik Hart, to adopt tomorrow night.
Nor has it provided details of three community consultations held just this month.
Despite that, the Dogs in Open Space draft policy is on the agenda for the August 22 Council-under-administration meeting.
.
It is another example of recommendations being put to the Administrator for his approval at the meeting without the relevant documents being presented as well. See the first: https://www.cccouncilwatch.com.au/decisions-without-details/
So far, all we know is that the revised draft includes:
# a smaller off leash area at Pippi Park, Davistown
# Terrigal Haven dog park becomes an on-leash area
# Lett Park at Wamberalt, behind the surf club, to become an off leash area
The public is supposed to be updated with documents at the same time as the councillors, or in our case, the administrator, under the Local Government Act.
Therefore, if Mr Hart has been briefed on the revised plan or workshops, the information should be public.
If he hasn’t; what’s the rush: why is this on the agenda?
If Mr Hart agrees to the staff recommendation, the revised draft will go on public exhibition for a period of not less than 28 days.
