The July 23 meeting was the last one before Council-under-administration goes into caretaker mode.
There were 22 items listed, starting with the financials.
# The financial report is basic because the end of financial year 2023-24 report is being worked on but it looks like 2023-24 will see the council come in with the budgeted surplus in the low $30Ms.
# The next major item was the dogs in open space action plan and Administrator Rik Hart took out Pippi Point and the memorial park at Davistown from the list of recommended dog parks and off lease areas which will now under a review the environmental factors but the still leaves 20 dog parks and off leash areas, including The Haven at Terrigal, on the list.
A group of residents who were at the meeting there to protest against the recommended plan for Davistown left the meeting pretty happy
.
# A draft policy for growing/keeping the coast’s open space was approved so it will now go on public exhibition.
# The Greater Warnervale Structure Plan was also adopted so it is ready to be sent off to the State Government for approval.
The plan estimates another 30,000 people by 2041 – just in greater Warnervale.
# The former Gosford Council chambers will be up for private sale if TAFE doesn’t go ahead by July 2025.
# Council will now go ahead with the plan to sell Woy Woy commuter car park for $1 to the Department of Transport..
These are just some of the July meeting highlights.
