Are you thinking about running for a position as a councillor when or if Central Coast Council-under-administration finally gets an election?
If so, you need a taste of what the job entails.
The most public part of the role is to attend a council meeting and vote on the items on the agenda.
But before that, you have to read the agenda.
(Well, you should.)
For the next meeting, on May 24, you have 69 pages of agenda to wade through and 181 pages of attachments.
Potential Councillors: please read those pages and work out if you would:
1/ Adopt the staff recommendation on each item or
2/ reject the staff recommendation or
3/ put forward an amendment.
I will poll you later.
Watch this space.
Let’s see if we can start a group of Voting Council Watchers.
First, you need to know how to find the agenda and attachments.
Go to the council website and follow your nose: let me know if you need help.
At the top of the page there are seven tags including one labelled Council.
Put your cursor or finger on that and read the drop down box: find agendas and minutes and voila: away you go!
