Council-under-administration is advertising for a person to take on the job of bringing our next crop of councillors up to speed on rules and regulations.
The “Governance Officer” would provide guidance, advice and support to staff and councillors on Governance matters.
Apparently you would be expected to “use judgement to balance the need for organisational compliance with legislative requirements and implementation of efficient systems that avoid bureaucracy often in an environment that is complex and ill-defined”.
You would recommend “innovative ways” to ensure staff, councillors and “other relevant stakeholders” are aware of Governance requirements.
And you’d support the team delivering “effective councillor professional development and induction training activities”.
